VLAN Business Connectivity is for:
  • businesses connecting to other businesses with VLANs in the same metro area;
  • businesses connecting to multiple businesses or bandwidth providers in the same metro area


    • Note that VLANs start at $250 per month; PLUS bandwidth and circuit costs. Generally VLANs are not distance sensitive within the same metro area.

       VLANs are a part of the 'switched' network. As your data is traversing over a 'switched' network and over the public fiber systems all sensitive data should be encrypted. If your company is transmitting sensitive data (such as financial or health records) then you should encrypt the data before sending the data over the VLAN.
    Availability
    WCIX offers VLANs in select major metropolitan areas in the San Francisco Bay Area. Also, VLAN connectivity with a few other providers is available.
    Performance
    VLAN performance is based on tthe speed of the actual connection. VLANs 'ride' on top of your existing connection.

    Configuration
    WCIX will assist in programming your router or switch for this application
    Installation
    No hardware is needed.
    Monitoring
    WCIX does NOT provide monitoring of business to business VLANs. WCIX can provide monitoring of the overall circuit if desired.

    There is a minimum 1 year term for business to business VLANs.
