| WCIX currently has over 40 gbps of video streaming and video download capacity. WCIX offers video streaming in major POPs in North America and Europe. |
| Performance |
| The WCIX team has designed and implemented large-scale video streaming programs for five years. For example, one 8 hour video streaming program exceeded 50,000 users -- over 15 gbps. Also, the WCIX team designed and implemented the largest network for radio station streaming -- over 600 radio stations and 2 million e-listeners per month. The WCIX team carefully monitors all portions of the video streaming system including the encoder stream, the streaming servers, and the network itself. |
| Configuration |
A minimum of two streaming servers will be used per event. The typical video stream is 330 - 500 kbps; although bit rates as high as 1 mbps are utilized. WCIXs' live streaming servers are designed to handle thousands of simultaneous clients.
WCIX supports many file formats for video download including *.wmv, *.flv, and *.mp3. |
| Installation |
| The client must provide the encoded stream in Windows Media format for live streaming. WCIX will provide the streaming server hardware. |
| Monitoring |
| WCIX provides monitoring of the quantity of users, as well as server and network performance. The client may specify the maximum quantity of users per event; or the maximum bandwidth transferred per month. |
| Terms and Conditions |
There is a minimum 1 year term for video streaming.
To estimate GB bandwidth transferred, multiply the quantity of clients times the 330 kbps video stream rate, times the hours per event, times 3600 seconds per hour, times the number of events per month, divided by 8,000 kb/GB.
For example, if the client is estimating that they will have 20 streaming events per month; and that each event will be 8 hours long, and that they will have 2,000 average simultaneous clients, then the total transfer is:
Total GB = 20 events x 8 hours/event * 3600 seconds /hour x 330 kbps/stream x 2,000 users /8,000 kb/GB
Total = 47,520 GB per month
The bit rate is determined by you, when you encode the video stream at the source; and by the clients computer based on the capacity of their computer and Internet connection.
